What makes a good Videographer?
Videography is an artistic endeavor. The approach your videographer takes will dictate to a large degree the type of film you can expect to receive. At Day in White Wedding Videography, we employ a cinematic approach. Using music (chosen by you or provided by us), we set your day to song to provide an interesting, well-paced presentation of the events. Typically, this approach results in a tightly edited, feature-quality film of approximately 120 minutes depicting the events of the day. During the ceremony, wireless microphones in combination with highly advanced directional camera mounted microphones capture every whisper and vow in perfect clarity. Multiple camera angles ensure that all the important moments are memorialized and contribute to a more interesting recreation of the event. And continuous coverage of all the photographic sessions ensures that no matter which moments your photographer elects to memorialize, every nuance is preserved and available to you and your family.
There are several factors to consider when evaluating a videographer. One of these is the level of intrusiveness employed during the filming. The best compliment we have ever received from a client was that they didn’t even know we were there, and we strive to be almost completely invisible to you and your guests, capturing the day as it unfolds rather than intrusively trying to direct the “moments.” The technological sophistication of our equipment helps to facilitate this goal. By utilizing state of the art cameras and microphones, we can capture moments in many different settings, including the low lighting of most receptions, without having to resort to staging the shots or missing them in the dark.

It's in the editing
Another factor to consider is the sophistication and amount of post-production, or editing of the raw footage. Many entry-level videographers offer minimal or on-camera editing only. In brief, they are telling you they will fade one scene (event) out and then fade in to another. This approach is occasionally paired with the addition of underlying music, but without cutting the action to the music. While this is an inexpensive way to tape, it is a far cry from a well-paced, watchable movie. Day in White Wedding Videography employs Final Cut Pro, the professional video editing software utilized in the production of such major motion pictures as Cold Mountain and Intolerable Cruelty. The power of this tool allows us, for instance to fade the entrance processional over a fixed focal distance. In other words, rather than having to watch eight bride’s maids walk from the rear of the church to their positions at the front, one camera captures them entering and another captures them taking their positions for the ceremony. In editing, these moments are joined together, allowing the entire entrance to be streamlined from twenty minutes to six while still capturing and highlighting each participant. Moreover, we adhere to a professional, elegant editing style without the use of tacky effects or obtrusive titling to distract or detract from the elegance of your wedding.
Once the editing is complete, you can expect to receive three professional quality DVD copies of the wedding. Each one has a custom, professional DVD case that will be right at home with your favorite blockbusters in your movie library. And with the capability to print directly on the DVD, Day in White Wedding Videography ensures you will get years of enjoyment from your beautifully printed DVD without having to worry about stick on labels unbalancing the DVD during playback, making the DVD unplayable or even possibly damaging your DVD player! Finally, with full chapter indexing and access on the DVD, you can quickly see the part of the wedding you are looking for, allowing you to easily reminisce about your vows or quickly find a humorous moment to share with visiting friends or family.
